The Download Statusbar program has one  salient feature which is note worthy that is  the ability to automatically scan downloaded files for viruses using your allocated virus scanner. You need to just click Options, head to the Virus Scan tab and choose your Anti-Virus program.

Install Download Statusbar and follow the prompts. It is important to remeber that you need need to restart Firefox before it will be enabled.

A working model of a Download Statusbar consists of the following features:

• Automatically continue downloads in the download manager when the browser closes
• Clear finished downloads when the browser closes
• Confirm before deleting a file from the system
• Clear a finished download after opening it
• Clear a finished download after opening containing folder
• Show the ‘Downloads completed’ notification

Such large version of Download Statusbar can occupy some valuable browser space is taken up. You can switch to ‘mini mode’ instead, by clicking the Downloads button and select options, then just click the little Mini Mode box.

Now everything in the Download Statusbar gets quite a bit smaller, even with several downloads displayed. They are only shown when you click to view the total number of downloads.

You can always switch back to full mode by clicking the Full Mode button, as long as you have enabled it in the options.

The advantage with larger version of Download Statusbar is that it allows for a little more information if you hover over your downloads.
