Inexpensive iPhone Safari Download Manager (SDM)

Safari Download Manager (SDM) allows you to download multiple files simultaneously and also to eliminate those files that are in between according to your preferences. It is a new application available in Cydia Store that manages your downloads within iPhone Safari browser and supports almost every downloadable extension. SDM is similar to YouTube videos and adds a download manager to the bottom bar of Safari, in the iPhone mobile browser. SDM allows you to download data off the Internet and store it on your iPhone or iPod touch local disk in the var or root or Downloads folder.

That’s awesome! Now if SDM could only allow us to choose where to download to each time, which would be perfect and then have them added to the iPod in the phone. But, there is a hitch as well that prevents you from simply streaming the file in MobileSafari. So, for example, if I were to find a song using SeeQPod, instead of just listening to it, I would have to download it, quit Safari, Launch SendFile and hit play.

SDM settings are really well made as you can choose the extensions of files to save and to play in your browser. When you start downloading a file does not mean that you have to do is click on a link and then select the Download item that appears within a window. In SDM when you navigate to an MP3 file and select it, a green Download button appears which must be tapped and the file is downloaded perfectly whereas earlier the QuickTime plug-in would have just played the file back in Safari.

SDM is an easy way to play back these downloaded files using any software which allows you to email, share and play back the downloaded videos on demand, whether or not you are connected to the Internet. When you want to drag a file to another folder and copy it instead of moving it, you hit the Option key when you drag that file and it will be duplicated rather than moved entirely. SDM is the best app that can be put on your iPhone to accentuate file downloads. You can download songs through Safari and then have them added to the iPod in the phone. SDM file downloads costs $ 2 and you can also download it via the BigBoss repository.
