After my webhost Godaddy, i have shifted to the new host that every one talk about. THE HOST GATOR WEB HOSTING SERVICE USA. As many say it, they are very good a web hosting service. They have every sort of packages and every variety of packages. They have got the best uptime and most importantly their unlimited package is the biggest success. host-gator1

So what is this unlimited package all about?

  • One can host any number of websites on one account.
  • One can really use any amount of DISK SPACE.
  • One can exploit their unlimited BANDWIDTH.
  • One can use any number of sql databases.
  • One can use any number of domains.
  • And one gets Unlimited usage.

Then whats the cost of the package?

Its cheap and is economic at 7.95$/yr. Though the basic package starts at 4.95$/yr ( This basic package is not unlimited package. But is best choice for normal usage.)

So, hmm package is ok.. what about hostgator service and uptime?

Yah, coming to the point. Its extremely cool and good. You can get them on phone at any moment and also on mail. They guarantee 99.9% of the uptime like other hosts. But the main difference with the other hosts is they wont really provide you good uptime, where as host gator does.

Wow cool.. so what else are good things about hostgator?

Hostgator is one of the gems in hosting and i am really happy with their service.

What are cons then?

Yah coming to that.. There are some cons with hostgator too. Their package cost is bit expensive compared to other hosts, but if you really want the realiable Host and uptime, my suggestion is hostgator. go for it.

How to Stop Wasting Your Time on your Blog Stats

Checking your Blog stats is an addiction. The first thing you do I am sure just like I used to when you come to work is check your blog stats. Worse if you carry your site with you, you stay awake till the time of stats close just to check how many you’ve clocked today. Then there are anxious moments when you are waiting for the mile stones to be crossed. You bite your nails, chew them some may even puff away and like the stats of your favorite game of cricket you might even start counting the number of hits per minute or what ever your traffic is. Get out of this addiction because you know it is a waste of time. Here are some methods you can adopt. round-clock

Fix a Time

You should lay down specific time for checking the stats and do not over step it. Once you know the rate of hits and the gradient of climb so get control over yourself and stick to your schedule.

Avoid Using Side Bars

Using the available side bars for your stats is as good as the real thing. It is only a substitute as potent as the original

E Mail Notifications.

It is better to employ eMail notifications so that you do not lose track of time when you are deeply engrossed.

Entrust the Work

If you are still not confident entrust the work to some one and let him set a pass word that is not accessible to you. It might work.

Practice Self Hypnosis

Short of giving yourself an electric shock when the desire strikes you, you can practice any method of self hypnosis like thinking of a wretched thing or a better thing. Suit your self.

Compulsive Substitute

If you are the compulsive type then it is better to chose another kind to get addicted to.

In the end “Happy Stats”.

Bing SEO: Not To Be Taken Lightly At All

Ever since Microsoft launched Bing it has lived up to its predictions to be a Google Killer. The Hundred Million dollars invested on its advertisement has never hurt them and Bing has generated some significant consumer interest to carve out a niche for itself on the World Wide Web. If you happen to be a website owner, you will also notice that in effect, Bing is beginning to notice you considerably.

Lately, there have been more and more SEO related blogs that have been focusing on Bing optimization and it has crossed my mind, should we be optimizing our sites for Bing as well as Google? It is in fact true that Bing has only been going strong for a short while, but it is definitely going to accentuate full speed ahead and will eventually take over Yahoo.

bing

The following tips are for those users who take Bing optimization seriously:

  • Bing favors older domains more: which means that for example there are two domains A and B. If domain A is older than B and both are targeting the same keywords, automatically A will be given higher ranking.
  • The titles are the key to higher ranking on Bing: Bing is similar to most other search engines has affinity to keyword rich titles. This means you should really concentrate on SEO when writing blog posts or creating content on them. You must not only ensure that the title to be keyword rich, but it should be related to the content as well.
  • Bing mostly favors longer forms of writing: When the content of your blog post, article, or web page has more than 300 words, then you are likely to be ranked higher in Bing.
  • You must also ensure that you are letting in the MSNBot to your site: which is nothing but the spider that crawls on your site looking for the keywords and text.
  • Linking out App.: In Google your rank is affected by linking out, but in Bing it is not so and so feel free to do so on Bing. You must ensure not to do too much as it may affect your Google Rank. I tend not to worry about that because linking is a natural app of the World Wide Web.

Reviews On various WebHosts: My personal Experience, host-1: Godaddy

I was lately researching about some of the best hosting packages out there and i know many of you have similar doubts in you about the best one to choose in starting up with your website.

I had the same experience like you when i first thought of launching my website. I researched a lot n found many reviews and many comments, testimonials and many more during my initial days of online journey. None of them made me feel comfortable to choose one right away. So i started testing some of the trial packages and paid packages offered by many hosts and found interesting things and features of different hosts. Oh god was i a beast or what?? :O

Anyways, i ended u learning lot of things in my journey. I wanna share my analysis about different hosts that i come across till now. I will try to update the following list with some more hosts too :) So lets start with GODADDY. the top domain registrar they claim :) logo-godaddy

GODADDY:
Godaddy is the first site anyone come across when you register a domain. It is the cheapest of all the domain registrars out there. But when it comes to hosting, they charge very high amount compared to others. their budget hosting starts at 5$/mo approximately, which is relatively costlier. It gives:

  • 10 GB Space | 300 GB Transfer
  • 100 Email Accounts
  • 10 MySQL Databases
  • at 4.99$

This basic package is good for those who want to start a small website for their office or company. since it can handle only one website and the advantage of taking this package is that you will be having your hosting with godaddy which is one of those highly reliable Web Hosts.

Pros of godaddy hosting accounts:

  • You will have your account with GODADDY one of those biggest brands for online market.
  • Uptime of the we host is really good. They have continuous server maintenance and frequent backups.
  • not so costly, if your whole goal is just an account for your little, tiny, cute website :) or a huge dedicated or virtually dedicated server.
  • Good Customer support if you can catch them on phone. ;)

Cons of godaddy accounts:

  • You cannot have more than one website per an account.
  • Very difficult for Non-U.S customers to contact them. Since they doesn’t have any chat facility except email contact option.
  • The basic package is completely useless if you are planning to do some thing more online  and the rest of the packages become costly with increase in the demand of features. Say, you want to host 10 websites and you require 1o different ips for each website then godaddy becomes very expensive that a normal man cannot afford.
  • The free goods they promise are really of no use. godaddy-uptime

Conclusion:

So if you want to buy a deluxe hosting or private server hosting or anything of that sort, then you have to prefer GODADDY. If you want to host only one tiny small cute website, then go with godaddy basic one yr plan.

TAGLINE:

Godaddy —-> Best option for simple websites and High&Heavy requirements like virtual servers and private servers.

How to transfer WordPress Blog Data To Another Web-Host??

When you decide to shift from your blog from your current host there can be several reasons to move your blog to another host. Primarily, the most common reason for this transfer is the unreliable service of the original host, where downloading could take as much as several minutes in a day. wordpress

  1. Backup the database: Firstly, upgrade your WordPress installation including, files and databases on the WordPress blog. This will help you to have a backup all your uploaded files, images, plug-ins and theme files so that it matches the script version of the new host. WordPress database backup plug-in will be able to help you achieve this task in a snap.
  2. Backup the Wp-Content folder: This task can be completed by using FileZilla or any other FTP program. Wp-Content folder is pretty important as it holds your plug-ins, themes and all the uploads (files & images).
  3. Install WordPress on your new host: Most of the hosts will provide you an IP address through which you will be able to manage your web host account and will be able to make the changes on it.
  4. Delete the old tables: Delete all the tables which were created with your new installation of WordPress.
  5. Import the old database: With the help of phpMyAdmin or SQLyog community edition you will be able to import the old database completely.
  6. Replace the Wp-Content folder: Replace the wp-content folder which got created with the new installation and approach the new host technical support for more memory space.
  7. Customize the new wordpress installation: This is done by editing the required database information found in the file of the root folder of the installation wp-config.php. This has to be done according to the name of the imported database, your user name, password and the host name, which is usually local host.
  8. Change the name servers: Change the name server with the help of your domain registrar control panel, you have to change the name server of your existing domain to the name server of your new hosting company and in the next 24 hours your blog will work just like normal.

Quick Tip: If you use Google Apps for email solution for your domain, then don’t forget to change the MX server details too and avoid loosing a lot of important e-mails.

Resizing Image Width and aligning image on a wordpress blog.

The resizing of width and height attributes on images ensures fast webpage display and conserves bandwidth. Most bloggers use images to spice up their look. I am having an issue with the new image caption feature in Word Press blog. Apparently, it is automatically adding 10px to the width of the caption surrounding the image. Similarly, you may be encountering the same issue with Image Width while using Word Press blog.

The resizing image width is essential when you are adding multiple images to your blog. The default wordpress theme automatically resizes the image to the themes maximum width. But there are always problems while using this wordpress plug-in and there are no immediate solutions as they are coded. The max width attribute is still hard coded. I mainly use 500px wide images, but every now and again I need to post a smaller width image, say like the sausage dog, I can’t really used fixed width divisions because I can’t accommodate for all images.

wordpress

How Image Width Resizing is possible in Auto Mode?

You need to access your (Sample Style Sheet) style.css that is located in the wordpress theme folder and add the following code:

post img {
max-width: 530px;
width: expression(this.width > 530 ? 530: true);

}

Let us assume that an image posted in your blog was of the size 800px × 130px but it got automatically scaled down to 530px × 120px , which means that it resizes the images to the given width and height respectively. You must find the maximum width of the content part of your blog and save the dimensions in the above given code. Once saved, it starts working and resizes all the images to the given width or size dimensions. With an external style sheet (css), you can change the look of the entire site by changing one file. The custom options include colors for all layout sections. Definitely, your blog can look quite different than someone else’s.

Image Alignment

You can remove the option to float all images left or right site-wide. Instead use the WordPress editors align left or right feature when inserting an image that you want to align left or right as it is less troublesome.
